
In Greco-Roman, a wrestler not attack opponent’s legs, nor
use legs to trip, lift or execute other moves. Greco-Roman wrestler must
wrestle from standing head against his opponent’s chest. is called passivity,
and will result in "CONTACT" by official. Greco-Roman official will say
"contact red" before really indicating passivity by holding an open
palm hand in the air offenders color indicated. There slight relaxation in not
requiring a high arch attacker when a gut wrench is initiated on the mat, plus
some modifications on hand.
In freestyle, both the arms and legs may execute holds or to
defend against attack. If legs part of
the attack by an aggressor, no points are scored wrestlers are returned to
standing. Only one official needs to see the leg usage move to nullify.
If legs prevent a move, attacker receives whatever points
gained, a caution point and choice position. If standing is blocked, freestyle
attacker receives 2 points plus position choice. If a move mat is prevented, freestyle
attacker receives 1 point plus choice. Freestyle offenders receive a single care.
